Update - 25 May 2010

With all results in at long last, I can now provide a proper update as to events in Fantasy Cricket 2010, certainly for the 29 correctly-entered teams that have paid their £5 entry fee.

Top of the tree, and aptly in first place, are Alex Tyler’s Binary Boys. Proving that experience can be bought is RCA Thorn, just 250 points behind in second place. James Hawley’s Super City are two places better than the team inspiring their name. And Robbo has almost certainly done worse than the final champions league berth, where Byron Cooper finds himself.

Salad Dodging or Rockstar Juice aren’t propelling Chris Hackett or Lee Dixon off the foot of the table. Other notables see a Pavlinovichless Neston coping without their talisman in 6th place, Paul Stimson’s Northern Monkeys camped in the midlands at 14th, and the 4th XI are regretting not picking Tom Williams, and find themselves 16th. Unfortunately, the editor’s Deadly Submarine has run aground in 21st place, a consolation being that 21 is his lucky number.

However, the order may change with today’s announcement from the Fantasy Cricket Transfer Panel that, following a consultation with member clubs, special dispensation will not be granted to transfer Brad Rasool out of sides because the required 2/3 majority for such a special change was not met. New rules for this and other eventualities will be in play for 2011 Fantasy Cricket.

The transfer window opens on Sunday 18th July 2010 until it is firmly closed at 23.59pm on Friday 23rd July. Speculation is rife that draft number 228 Tom Williams will be a favourite investment at a generous £90 price; however only a third XI batsman can be replaced to bring him in under restrictive transfer rules.

So far, the dream team is as follows:

Tom Williams: 805 points

Brad Rasool: 678

Jack Smith: 639

Matt Wilson: 630

Cameron Lea-Swain: 623

Kurt Sturzy: 595

Andy Roberts: 408

Chris Hackett: 662

Wayne Greve: 411

Luke Camden: 406

James Hawley: 924

Jordan Free: 550

Chris Finegan: 539

Mark Edge: 428
